One of the first longer period swells of the season will generate a sneaker wave threat for northwest California beaches this weekend. Higher than normal tides and changing wind conditions will be present as well. So don't be fooled by an ocean that looks calm. There can be up to 30 minutes of flatter conditions before a sneaker wave rushes up the beach. Stay safe by staying farther back from the ocean.
