Rain will overspread the area this afternoon and continue into tonight before tapering off and ending on Friday. Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.50-1.00" are expected. Attention turns to Friday as gusty northwest winds of 15-30 mph with gusts of 30 to 45 mph are in the forecast. A brief cool down on Saturday with a hard freeze expected north and west of the Fox Valley with temperatures returning to above normal levels on Sunday and continuing through much of next week.
